What is the PADI Divemaster Program?

The PADI Divemaster Program is the first professional-level certification in the PADI system, designed for divers who want to take their skills to the next level and start working in the dive industry. As a Divemaster, you’ll be responsible for leading certified divers, assisting instructors, and gaining an in-depth understanding of dive operations. The course builds leadership abilities by developing your dive theory knowledge, rescue skills, and underwater navigation expertise.

To enrol in the PADI Divemaster course, the prerequisites are:

• Certified PADI Advanced Open Water Diver and PADI Rescue Diver or equivalent from another training agency
• Certified EFR Primary and Secondary Care or equivalent CPR and First Aid certification from another training agency (within the past 24 months)
• Minimum 18 years old (or 15 years old for the Junior Divemaster Course)
• Minimum 40 logged scuba dives
• Medically evaluated and cleared for diving by a physician within 12 months

This workshop focuses on improving breath control, streamlining movement, and increasing body awareness underwater. Introduction to Technical Diving Workshop

For those looking to expand their diving knowledge even further, Atmosphere offers an Introduction to Technical Diving as part of the Divemaster training program. You’ll get an introduction into the different types of technical diving, followed by a session in the pool to try out some twin sets and buoyancy skills. This introduction is perfect for divers who may want to pursue Tech diving certifications in the future.

Coral Restoration Dive With The Institute for Marine Research

We’ve also partnered with Institute for Marine Research (IMR) to give you the opportunity to contribute to their Functional Restoration and Growth Studies (FRAGS). Divemaster candidates can join Atmosphere guests during our coral restoration dives on Thursdays. This includes a presentation followed by a hands-on coral planting dive, led by one of IMR’s marine biologists.
