The creation of The Bakery was fueled by both passion and necessity. With the increasing number of guests visiting the resort, the team saw an opportunity to enhance the dining experience. So the team created a dedicated space for freshly baked goods and quality coffee. Situated near the family pools, where comfy tables and chairs invite guests to relax, The Bakery and Coffee Shop offers a convenient and welcoming atmosphere. “It inspires us to open our creativity and sharpen our minds by making something beyond our comfort recipes,” shares Joshua, one of the bakers. The result is a space where guests can enjoy unique flavors and high-quality treats in a relaxed setting.

A Day in the Life of an Atmosphere Baker

Behind the scenes, the bakery team works diligently from morning until night. They ensure that guests always have fresh, delicious options to choose from. Mornings are dedicated to bread production, with signature loaves like sourdough and farmer’s bread taking center stage. In the afternoons, the focus shifts to desserts, with the team crafting indulgent treats such as panna cotta and the beloved BTS (moist chocolate cake). “Being a baker is not easy,” admits Joshua. “We want our desserts to be creative, delicious, and meet the high standards of the resort.”

Signature Offerings and Guest Favorites

The bakery offers a selection of artisan breads, carefully combining traditional techniques with modern methods. Sourdough, a guest favorite, requires patience and precision to perfect. For dessert lovers, the signature BTS cake stands out with its rich chocolate ganache and honeycomb crunch. “It has a very moist texture and is coated with chocolate ganache, topped with cream and honeycomb crunch,” describes Goryo, one of the resort’s dedicated bakers.

Guests can also place custom orders for special occasions. Among those are birthday cakes and dietary-specific options such as gluten-free or vegan treats. “One of the most unique requests we received was a mango cake that not only tasted like mango but was also shaped like one!” recalls Goryo.

Seasonal Creations and Special Ingredients

To keep things exciting, The Bakery introduces seasonal and themed treats for holidays and special occasions. For Chinese New Year, they crafted traditional tikoy (nian gao), while Valentine’s Day calls for elegant, love-inspired desserts.

While the bakery sources its ingredients from trusted local suppliers, the real magic lies in the craftsmanship and passion of the team. “There are no special ingredients — just love and dedication in every product we make,” Goryo says.

The Team Behind The Magic

The bakery operates with a dedicated team of seven, each playing a crucial role in bread and dessert production. The morning shift maintains the fresh display, while the evening shift prepares everything for the next day. The team’s dynamic fosters collaboration and innovation. They experiment with new recipes and share ideas to elevate their craft.

Among the talented team members are Joshua, a Commis 1, and Goryo, a Chef de Partie, who bring their expertise and passion for baking to The Bakery. Their dedication is evident in every loaf and pastry they create. Supporting the team in bread production at Ocean Restaurant are Jake, Felnar, and Cecil. They are all skilled Commis who contribute to the bakery’s success with their precision and hard work.
