Mermaid Programs

Discover Mermaid (Ages 6+)
A fun introduction to mermaiding in a safe, supervised environment. Perfect for first-time mermaids who want to experience swimming with a mermaid tail.

Basic Mermaid (Ages 6+)
A half-day program that introduces essential mermaid skills, water safety, and underwater movement while building confidence in the water.

PADI Mermaid (Ages 10+)
A 1.5-day certification course that combines knowledge development with confined water sessions. Participants learn advanced mermaid techniques, including dolphin kicks, underwater turns, back glides, rescue skills, and creative underwater movement.

PADI Advanced Mermaid (Ages 12+)
Designed for certified PADI Mermaids who want to further develop their skills, confidence, and underwater performance through more advanced techniques and extended in-water training.

Take your first step towards learning how to explore the underwater world with only your breath! Enroll in the PADI Freediver course at Atmosphere where you will be introduced to freediving theory and techniques with our PADI freediving instructor.

Starting in the pool, you will learn breathhold techniques as well as static and dynamic apnea (holding your breath) – the goal here is static apnea of 90 seconds and dynamic apnea of 25 metres/80 feet! Your instructor will then take you into open water along the beautiful Dauin coastline, practicing free immersion and constant weight freedives down to 10 metres/30 feet, plus proper buddy procedures.

Participants must be 12 years or older, with adequate swimming skills and need to be in good physical health.

More Comfortable on the Surface? Snorkel in Style!

At Atmosphere Resorts & Spa in the Philippines, we welcome snorkelers on all our boat trips, with Apo Island being the most popular snorkeling trip. A beautiful island with lots of turtles, white sand and stunning coral reefs.

Snorkeling can also be done off the beach on our amazing house reef – right in front of the resort – at any time. Many of our other dive sites are excellent snorkeling sites with very shallow corals. It is a marine sanctuary roped off by buoys, with marine park rangers patrolling, making sure the sanctuary rules are followed. Fishing or touching the reef is not allowed and if you want to swim, snorkel, or dive you need to have tickets for the marine park.

The reef covers a very large area and stretches all the way to the beach in some areas. You will encounter countless tropical fish, many species of coral and sponges, sea turtles, and perhaps even sea snakes. Going further out, there is often a school of barracudas hanging in the blue. The house reef is so vast that it would take you many hours to explore it.

Snorkel equipment is available for guest use free of charge in our dive centre. We also offer snorkeling classes for guests who have little experience but wish to learn. We have dedicated snorkeling guides at Atmosphere and we have life jackets available for the less experienced swimmers. Check out the map in the dive centre for more details on our snorkeling spots.
