Marine Biologist/PADI Instructor/Social Media Coordinator

Atmosphere Resorts & Spa in the Philippines is looking for an enthusiastic and passionate new team member for the role of Marine Biologist / PADI Instructor / Social Media Coordinator.

Atmosphere is luxury dive resort and a PADI 5* Career Development Center located in Dauin, a small village on the island of Negros. Diving around Dauin is well-known for its critters (muck diving) whereas nearby Apo Island is a well-established MPA famous for its healthy coral reef eco system. As a Marine Biologist / PADI Instructor you will be diving in both environments.

As a social media coordinator you will be managing and creating content for the ‘Atmosphere Dive’ social media channels.

The job role consists of:

  • Develop, maintain and educate guests and staff regarding environmental policies and initiatives
  • Private marine biology dives with our diving guests
  • Present an ongoing series of informal marine biology lectures to guests
  • Guide and teach children about the aquatic environment through guided snorkeling and diving sessions
  • Support our sister organization Institute for Marine Research (IMR) with coral restoration projects
  • Teach the distinctive PADI Critters of Dauin Specialty (credentials will be provided by Atmosphere)
  • Teach a wide range of PADI Courses including OWC, AOW, Rescue, DM, Bubblemaker and Seal Team Programs, Discover Scuba Diving and any other specialties you may have
  • For IDC Staff/Master Instructors there is an opportunity to participate and teach during our PADI IDC
  • Handle and develop our Atmosphere Dive social media accounts
  • Create dive related content above and underwater for Atmosphere
  • Write monthly blogs about scuba diving, courses or marine life for Atmosphere’s website

Minimum qualifications needed:

  • Marine Biology degree
  • PADI MSDT or higher (or an OWSI interested in achieving additional Specialty Instructor ratings taught by our in-house Course Director)
  • Ability to write faultless English
  • Have a grasp and keen interest in social media and photography
  • A second language is preferable (German or French preferred) but not required
  • Experience in freediving is preferable, but not required

Reservations Manager

We are looking for that special person who will be in charge of our small reservations team at Atmosphere Resorts & Spa in Dauin, and it is a full time position.

As the Reservations Manager, you will:

  • Lead our experienced reservations team and report to our Resort Manager
  • Increase resort revenue by means of upselling, lead generation and follow up activities
  • Improve guest communication and experience
  • Develop new reservations documents, email templates and keep them current and updated
  • Work closely with our accounting department in tracking and facilitating guest payments
  • Maximise the use of our CRM system
  • Handle direct bookings, OTA bookings and online bookings

Applicants will have:

  • Experience from reception and/or reservations/sales in the hospitality industry
  • A college degree or the equivalent
  • Experience working with CRM programs or similar
  • A track record of managing or leading a small team

  • Display proficiency in written and verbal English.
  • Demonstrate a keen and meticulous eye for detail and numbers.
